Why We Play brings together photography and athletes in a photographic project consisting of individuals who engage in a sport that is considered non-mainstream within New Zealand. Each athlete is captured collaboratively in a studio environment to demonstrate the interplay between the paraphernalia of the sport and the character of the player, focused on seeking the core reasons why they play what they do.
